Application of a S-VHS Camcorder in Architectural Photogrammetry

Improvements and new developments in the fields of sensor and computer technology have had a major impact on photogrammetry. Nowadays a variety of cameras and photogrammetric systems is available. The application of a S-VHS camcorder together with a system for Digital Photogrammetry and Architectural Design in architectural photogrammetry is demonstrated on a practical object. The imaging system provides sufficient accuracy for architectural tasks. An automatic data transfer of the photogrammetric generated three-dimensional object description to a CAAD system provides new capabilities for architects and conservationists.
